Caitlin Clark has broken her own record, as a rare copy of her rookie card just sold for $660,000 at auction, setting a new record for most expensive women’s sports card ever sold.
The 2024 Panini WNBA Rookie Royalty Flawless patch autographed one-of-one, features a patch from the Indiana Fever’s ‘Red Rebel’ jersey, Clark’s signature, and a hand-written inscription: “769 pts and counting.” The final sales figure nearly doubles the previous record of $366,000 which was also held by Clark.
“It’s no exaggeration to say that when it comes to Caitlin Clark’s top cards, this one truly lives up to its ‘one-of-one’ stamp,” Fanatics stated in the card’s pre-auction description. Clark now has 14 cards featuring her that have sold at public auctions for sums in excess of $80,000.
However, the title of “most expensive women’s sports card of all time” may be short lived for the Flawless card. On August 9th an Immaculate Logowoman 1/1 Clark card is scheduled to wrap up a public sale. Some collectors have already expressed a preference for this particular version of the card compared to the personalized inscription Flawless copy, meaning we could see a final sale price go north of $700K.
The sale was brokered by Fanatics at their latest Fanatics Collect Premier Auction earlier this month.
